The objectives of the Cost Action IS-LE, as fixed in the Memorandum of Understanding, have been the following:

Objective 1. To carry out geographic and interdisciplinary coordination by organizing WGs, representing different perspectives on the relations between Christianity and Islam in Europe. The methodological focus on common questions will fulfil the objective of creating a common understanding of how to research the issue in a pan-European and trans-Mediterranean perspective.

Objective 2. To create a collaborative website that operates as an open scientific platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, an events calendar, news board, mailing list and information repository, including research blogs and working materials open to discussion.

Objective 3. To promote the exchange of knowledge between senior and junior researchers by their joint integration in the design and management of the COST Actions.

Objective 4. To develop specific improvement actions for general knowledge on the research topic by pooling content.

Objective 5. To collaborate to the training of doctoral candidates.

Objective 6. To introduce digital humanities tools in the research on the topic.

Objective 7. To increase the scientific interconnection between ITCs and NNCs through collaboration on the Action’s activities.
